These terms govern your use of Osteon, an independent study tool for orthopaedic residents operated from the United States. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Osteon.
Osteon is an educational study aid. Its questions, references, narrations, and AI-generated responses are for exam preparation and general learning only.
It is not medical advice and must not be used to diagnose or treat any patient. Always rely on primary sources, institutional protocols, and your own clinical judgement. Content may contain errors, may be out of date, and AI features can produce confident but incorrect answers — verify anything you intend to act on.
Osteon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the ABOS, or any body that administers the OITE. We do not guarantee any examination result.
You need a Google account to sign in. You are responsible for activity under your account and must keep access to it secure. Accounts are for one person — do not share credentials or your subscription with others. You must be at least 16 years old.
Access is sold as a subscription for a fixed term (monthly, 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year). Prices are shown on the plans page before you buy.
Free trial. Where a trial is offered, you choose a plan at the start and the trial runs for the stated number of days. When it ends, that plan begins and your payment method is charged for the first term unless you cancel before the trial ends. One trial per person.
Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term at the then-current price, until cancelled.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account page or by emailing support@osteon.app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access through the end of the term you have already paid for.
Refunds. Terms already begun are generally non-refundable, since the free trial exists so you can evaluate the product first. If something has gone wrong, write to us — we would rather sort it out than argue about it.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We may change prices, but not for a term you have already paid for; we will give notice before a change affects a renewal.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. Where the breach is inadvertent and fixable, we will contact you first.
The questions, explanations, references, narrations, and software are ours and are protected by copyright. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use them for your own study for as long as your subscription is active. It does not transfer ownership of anything.
Your study data belongs to you. You can request an export or deletion at any time.
We aim to keep Osteon available continuously but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may modify or discontinue parts of the product. If we discontinue the service entirely while you hold a paid term, we will refund the unused portion.
Osteon is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of content.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any examination outcome or clinical decision. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and we will notify you of material changes by email or in the app. Continuing to use Osteon after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here removes any right you have to bring a claim in small claims court, or any consumer protection right you cannot waive under the law where you live.
